[riptide sighs, annoyed he has to expend effort on this. he starts the LONG, HEADACHE INDUCING PROCESS of tracking this little shit down, wondering why he cares this much.

sending bee pings every time he gets a bit closer.]

[Bee's on ASH3, switching up the beach for the slopes. He's been driving up the mountain to the snowy top for half the day, trying not to let his mind wander or think too much about what happened last night. There's still scrapes of paint missing from his alt-mode, a few bullet grazes and heavy dents where he'd slammed into walls.

Of course, he'd gotten halfway up the mountain before he realised that it had been a bad idea. Much like the beach, the snow reduces Bee's traction down to an all time low, and he ends up getting stuck in a few drifts and sliding and slipping his way up the trail. Eventually he gets mad enough to transform, shaking the snow off and out of his joints and promptly kicking a nearby alpine tree.

His MiD pings again, and Bee ignores it, not realising it's a sign that Riptide is close on his tail.]

--Stupid nature. When are you gonna get roads that don't suck to drive on, huh?

[he hugs his arms over his chassis and looks up the mountain path and then out over the view. Maybe he should've gone and blown his steam off in the arcade. It was lonely out here.]

[clomp clomp clomp here comes a boat clomp clomp

he's a little way behind bee, admittedly, but riptide has big strides. he catches up soon enough, wondering why the little guy thought snow would be any different from sand.]

You know, [he says, hopping over an outcropping of rocks.] I heard yellow is the best colour to have against snow. Stops friendly fire. Dunno about intentional fire, though. Sounds a bit like a bad plan to me.

[Bumblebee yells so loud that his voice echoes through the forest, making a couple of snow laden branches drop their loads thanks to the noise. He's a lot jumpier than before and he's fallen down in the snow on his aft as Riptide climbs over the outcrop.]

Are you trying to give me a spark attack?! Frag!

Oh, come on. I wasn't even quiet! Look at me!

[riptide groans, facepalms, then crouches down and watches bee.]

Are you okay? Seriously.

[Bumblebee is pointedly not looking at Riptide, instead looking himself over to make sure he didn't put any more dents in his casing, but isn't making any effort to pull himself up and out of the snow drift. He lives here now.]

Sure! I'm totally fine! I'm in a completely different universe with a whole bunch of bots who keep telling me I'm the wrong version of me, all on my own! Nobody else knows what the slag is up with my weird fuel tanks or why energon is in short supply or that hey! The war ended centuries ago! And Autobots are trying to kill me! Totally chilled.

[He sits up after the outburst, frowning down at his snow covered feet.]

I wanna go home.

[sighing, riptide clomps over to bee, sitting down next to where he is stuck in the drift.]

Your fuel tanks aren't weird and you're not the wrong version of anything, whatever that means. People shouldn't be telling you that.

[he looks down at bee, clearly concerned.]

I don't think how anyone has treated you the last few days has been entirely fair.

[riptide holds a hand out to bee, wanting to help him up.]

[Bumblebee watches the snow practically bury him deeper with Riptide sitting next to him, wriggling his legs to keep him from getting compacted down. Primus, he hates nature, and he picks at a twig that's sticking up through the snow as Riptide talks.]

Yeah, well. I'm the wrong Bumblebee. People expect him, and they get me. And everything is so different that I don't even know how to talk to anybot half the time. [He buries his face in his hands, only glancing when Riptide move to help him up out of the snow. He takes the hand to pull himself up, not expecting it to go any futher than that.] Even Sideswipe thinks I'm the wrong Bee, and his Bumblebee isn't even here.

[JOKES ON YOU BEE RIPTIDE PICKS YOU UP INTO A BIG ASS BEAR HUG.]

There's no such thing as the wrong Bumblebee. It's not your fault you're here, and it's not your fault other people are expecting something else. You don't exist to validate their expectations of what's basically a giant space roulette. [he puts bee down again.] Did they at least explain to you why Whirl freaked out?

[Bee squirms a little against the hug, mostly because it startled him. He just sort of lets it happen, mostly because he's not really much of a hugger even if he's been friends with Bulkhead for so long. What is it with big bot's and hugging it out?

He wobbles when he's put back down, shooting Riptide a small smile, before shrugging.]

No. Everybot just said I don't know any better like I'm a sparkling or something. [He pauses before frowning.]

I mean, then Rewind told me. By how was I supposed to know that happened? The war was over before I even came online.

It happened before the war. I mean, I wasn't super into history and I wasn't around before the war started either but... Cybertron really sucked.

[and it still does, honestly. riptide tries not to think too hard about it.]

It's just... unfortunate it was Whirl.

[Bumblebee stares up at him for a moment, a shudder running up his strut.] Eugh. Just thinking about it makes me wanna purge.

[He tries to think if he knows anyone who looks like that back home. Just one.] The only bot I know who looks like that on my Cybertron is Shockwave. And he's not really somebody you wanna be around for too long. Why would anyone do that?

Yeah... apparently if Megatron hadn't started the war, the senate would've gotten even worse until Cybertron became a living hell. This was when they already had disposables and empurata in the mix.

[riptide shakes his head.]

I'm glad yours isn't like that. When you said you were so young I thought you might've been an MTO or pre-war. It's nice to know one of us hasn't been through all that.

[What Riptide says just seems to raise more questions in Bee's mind--something that he figures that his own Optimus, being the War Nerd that he was, would be able to answer. He wasn't even sure if things like this happened on his Cybertron... It seemed so peaceful mostly. Then again, there's a reason the Elite Guard is still hiring.

Bumblebee decides that sitting in the snow isn't as nice as it had been, leaning against one of Riptide's large legs instead, frowning up at him.]

I feel dumb for not knowing any of this stuff. I feel like I should know this stuff. [He pulls a face (because since when did he really care about learning), rubbing the back of his helm.] I don't even know what MTO means. Or disposables. Like... no offense but your version of Cybertron sounds awful.

Don't. It's not your Cybertron.

[riptide can see that bee isn't comfortable and picks him up to place him on the crook of his knee. he figures if he's sitting cross legged it would be a comfier position while not an outright overbearing one.]

Disposables are mechs that were just discarded once they ran out of energon. They were so low on the chain that the senate didn't even consider them worthy of being refuelled. [he doesn't mention rewind is one. doesn't think it's his place.] And... MTOs were rolled out when the war started. They were created to be deployed onto the battlefield a couple hours later. Canon fodder, basically. That's what I am.

[he grins, though bitterly.]

I won't deny that.

[Bumblebee makes a small noise at being picked up but he's not really got the energy to complain right now. He's exhausted and running low on fuel and hasn't had a stasis since the day before everything happened. He'd been in his room to do that in the first place. Once Riptide puts him down, Bee huffs and settles on Riptide's knee, looking only a little annoyed at being carried around. But that's soon wiped off his face when Riptide explains.]

I... what? I mean, I know the war was brutal, but... Frag. [He seems incredibly unsettled by finding this out, pulling his arms in to cross them over his chest to stop the feeling of his spark thrumming in his chassis.] I thought Autobots were the good guys?

Good and bad get kind of blurry when each side is essentially trying to murder the hell out of the other side. I guess Autobots are the good guys because we tried to minimise casualties and didn't try to Cyberform other planets.

[he shakes his head.]

There's no point going into detail; the war's over now. Whirl as an empurata victim and Tarn are the only ones you need to know about.

[and pharma, but riptide doesn't register that just yet.]

[He still looks unsettled, squirming a little in his seat on Riptide's knee. He'd known that the war was bad, but was it this bad in his own universe? Probably. War isn't exactly ever a good thing. He doesn't really want to think about the things Ratchet probably did as a field medic, or even Omega-Supreme. The damage he'd caused whe fighting against the Decepticons was pretty devestating. Picturing that on a larger scale... with bots from every side all mixed together? It makes him feel queasy again.

Autobots were supposed to protect life. That's what Prowl and Prime went on about. Maybe that's why Ratchet was so jaded. He'd seen too many awful things. Suddenly, Bumblebee has a newfound appreciation for the medic.

Bumblebee nods, not quite meeting Riptide's optics. He's got a lot to think about, a lot of questions that don't really have answers. A lot of those questions being ones he has to ask himself. It takes him a moment before he says anything.]

--How am I supposed to avoid Whirl if my room doesn't have a wall anymore?

Well, I'd say stay with me but Sideswipe is my roomie and I get the feeling you two would bust down our other wall...

[he shrugs, careful not to move his knee too much.]

Ask Rodimus or Ratchet if you can stay with them until it's fixed, I guess. Actually, speaking of Ratchet... did you see him? You don't look like you did.

[Bumblebee pulls a face at the idea of rooming with Sideswipe and just shrugs.] I'll figure something else out. I doubt Sideswipe wants the wrong Bee in his face all the time.

[At Riptide's next question, Bee looks at the parts of his paint job that are scuffed and scratched.]

I don't need to see him, I'm fine.

I want you to take a good long look at where you're sitting and consider how well you'd be able to get away. He will want to see you.

[riptide isn't exactly best friends with ratchet, but he knows the medic well enough.]

I can take you back now, or you can have him hunting you down. Your call.

[LOOK AT THIS FACE, RIPTIDE.]

Do I have to? He's just gonna shout at me.

I can come with you if you want.

[he shrugs.]

And he'd shout at you more if he had to come hunt you down.

Yeah...

[Bumblebee huffs, trying to cheer himself up a little. Come on ego, come back.] I'm okay, though. I didn't get shot too bad, I'm way too fast for a 'bot like Whirl to catch me.
