IN CHARACTER
Name: Bumblebee
Canon: Transformers: Animated
Canon Point: Season 3, Episode 1, early in the episode Transwarped, after Bumblebee picked up part of a Space Bridge and was warped across the galaxy.
Age: There's no canon age for Bumblebee, but he's one of the youngest autobots in the canon, and these robots live a long time. I'm putting him at about 852 years old, since he's still pretty young an inexperienced and didn't fight in the Great Wars.

History: history here!

Personality:
Bumblebee is by far the youngest and most hyperactive of the Autobots on Earth, a lot of the other Autobots struggling to keep up with him half the time. Think an obnoxious teenager with lots of sugar and a habit for disobeying orders because they're not what he wants to do and and thinks they are the best thing since anything ever and you basically have Bumblebee. He loves going as fast as he can and definitely has a need for speed, even taking part in illegal drag racing in his alt mode (which is a sporty yellow hatchback) to prove that he's the fastest and the best on earth. A mysterious blue car out ran him on a drag race in the city, so Bumblebee ended up gate crashing Street Demon, an invitation only illegal drag racing ring that was publicly broadcast over some cable channels so that he could be crowned the fastest thing on four wheels. The blue racer who constantly beat Bee in the races ended up being an Autobot secret agent, Blurr, who Bee eventually conceded his title of 'fastest things on four wheels' to, with only a little hurt pride.

Bee's hyperactivity and need to go fast makes the bot impatient and impulsive, and he often makes choices on the spur of the moment that he doesn't fully consider consequences for. As a results, he tends to end up in potentially dangerous situations that he needs rescuing from, like the time he took part in a wrestling match against a human called Cyrus 'Colossus' Rhodes, which was a wrestling match to highlight how much better biotechnology was compared to robots. Bumblebee assumed he was going to win because he's the best but was quickly proven wrong when Rhodes bulked up with the help of the biotech, and grew far bigger and far stronger than Bumblebee. He promptly beat the crap out of Bee, and as Rhodes lost control and gave into anger, Bumblebee had to be rescued by his Autobot friends who had caught the match on television.

Bumblebee's ego can be damaged when other bots imply that he's too short to do something, which frustrates and angers Bumblebee. Being barely eight foot tall, the other bots tower over him, and it's something he's more than a little defensive about, often trying to do things and go beyond his abilities to prove the others wrong about his height and limitations. Though most of his impulsive choices end up badly most of the time, Bumblebee is often picked for missions because he's the smallest, fastest and most flexible, which Bee uses as a chance to show off how great being small really is. During one mission, Bee was the only one to be able to fit through a barrier to rescue Issac Sumdac from the evil clutches of Meltdown. He was fast enough to avoid getting coated with acid, and small enough to get up the elevator shaft to rescue Sumdac. Bumblebee was incredibly smug about it afterward, even taking a few short jokes on the chin, because there had been no-bot else for the mission and he was the hero, something that Bee revels in being considered. Who doesn't want to be a hero?

He has a short attention span and can't keep quiet for more than ten minutes unless he's unconscious--a bet that he lost to Prowl during a trip into the woods--and is constantly fidgeting and easily bored. He loves playing Earth videogames and watching loud TV shows and will actually shirk patrol duties in favour of getting a new high score, something that once got him into a dangerous situation (like most of Bee's amazing life choices) and he ended up getting captured by an escaped convict, Wasp.

His youth doesn't help his impulsiveness, as he's incredibly inexperienced and naive which means his decision making isn't exactly the most thought out, often jumping to conclusions with little evidence. He assumed that Sumdac was evil, working for Megatron out of choice rather than because he was being forced because Sari was upset about it, and he wanted to protect and side with her. He's also too young to know when he's in over his head, something only proved by his insistence on fighting the Decepticon Starscream even when Optimus Prime ordered him to hold back. Bumblebee decided he could take him anyway, and attacked Starscream mid-speech, which only ended up in irritating him rather than doing any particular damage. As a result, Bumblebee was casually beat the crap out of again by Starscream who seemed almost bored by the minibot's attempt to fight him and Bee ended up getting really damaged and thrown to the side.

Bee tends to pick and chose when to listen to his superiors, especially if he thinks they are out of line or giving the wrong orders. He's incredibly protective of his human companion, Sari Sumdac, and will often side with her over Prime. When increased Decepticon activity signalled the possibility of an attack, Prime confiscated Sari's AllSpark key, deeming her too young and human to take care of it, even though the key had chosen her to be it's caretaker. Prime ends up commanding Ratchet to forcibly take the key from her and Sari ran off crying. Bumblebee stood up for Sari, saying that she'd been looking out for them since the day they got there, and that she's actually a part of the team. Prime says because of Bumblebee's constant mistakes, he's not exactly a good character witness, and Bee retorts saying that because of the situation they're in he's not a good leader and disobeys Prime to go find Sari instead. Bee proceeded to disobey Prime and took on Starscream by himself, disobeying a direct order from Prime because he thought Sari might be in the tower that Starscream was sighted on and wanted to protect her. When it comes to his friends, Bee has bravery to spare, and will do anything to protect Sari, even if it means risking his own spark in the process.

Sari was the first human he ever met--originally thinking she was a robot's pet--and the two became fast friends. They are similar ages within their own species, both loving videogames, playing with remote control toys, and listening to music. Bumblebee actually took a bullet intended for Sari, mere hours after they met and the two only grow closer the more time they spend together. Bee cares about Sari's opinion and holds her in high regard, and since Sari never had any human friends, she calls Bee the best friend she's ever had.

Sari isn't the only person Bee is loyal to though. He's incredibly loyal to all his friends--as long as he also doesn't think you're being a jerk--and even gave up his dream of being a member of the Autobot Elite guard to help out Bulkhead. Originally, Bee had no desire to be Bulkhead's friend, calling him a 'mudflap', but as they continued to get to know one another, Bee realised just how gentle and kind Bulkhead actually was. He rescued him during a training exercise gone wrong, taking the blame for dropping a building on their drill sergeant, Sentinel Minor to stop Bulkhead from being expelled and not achieving his dream of becoming a space bridge technician. Bee was punished and gave up his dream, taking the blame for the building inccident and was put on space bridge detail which was something that he'd considered the worst career path he could take. But he didn't want Bulkhead to get expelled from Bootcamp and miss out on his own dreams. He was place under Optimus Prime's team, and Bulkhead and Bee continued to form their friendship, Bulkhead knowing what Bee had sacrificed for him and how much it meant.

Even though he appreciates his friends, he still has an obnoxious way of showing it and likes to constantly tease and poke at them. Ratchet seems to be the one who is most irrtated by how energetic and impulsive Bee is, and Bee pokes fun at just how old Ratchet is frequently. He also likes to make fun of Prowl for being too still and in love with nature, but Prowl is quick witted enough to get one over on Bee easily and prove him wrong. But proving Bumblebee wrong isn't exactly a hard thing to do, especially when his obnoxious attitude and big ego tends to fog his common sense. Still, sometimes being obnoxious comes in handy, and Bee actually used it as a tactic during a fight with the Decepticon Blitzwing, who is a tri-former with three personalities that all have different alt modes. By teasing and annoying Blitzwing, he managed to get him so angry that he switched personalities mid-air, sending him crashing down to the ground as a tank before he could calm down and control the situation.

Subtly isn't exactly his style either, and Bumblebee doesn't really understand the meaning of the word. This aggravates his teammate Prowl, who is a Cyber Ninja (yes really) and is often found meditating and communing with nature, spending hours just staring at organic life. Bee just doesn't get organic life, especially the boring parts like plants and things that can't talk to you, and unlike Prowl, loves the fact that they are considered superheroes to the humans. Being a hero of the Elite Guard had been Bee's dream, and to get to play out some heroics was better than a life building space bridges. Prowl tries to teach Bumblebee the importance of stillness in battle, and during one attack on the factory where they live where the machines came to life, Bee had to listen to Prowl and adapt 'stillness' to get through a laser field without getting hurt. Though some of Prowl's lessons get through to him, Bumblebee still likes to burst in, stingers buzzing and shouting some witty remark about how ugly the villains are instead of using Prowl's attempted training. If he wanted to be subtle, he'd have a different paint job! And being a hero is way too cool not to brag about!

All in all, Bee might be an obnoxious, impulsive teenager with a little bit of resistance to authority and a tendancy to go in over his head, but his spark is in the right place and he really does care about his friends. He's loyal and brave and a proud member of the Autobots, even if he has to be bailed out of situations by his older and wiser teammates. Also don't mention his height, unless you want a feisty minibot challenging you to a fight to prove you wrong and to not underestimate him (he'll probably lose but that's not the point).

Abilities/Skills:
• A Literal Robot - With being a literal robot, the skills and abilities Bumblebee gets are speed, dexterity, strength and durablity. Cybertronians are pretty hard to hurt unless you're another robot or have some sort of EMP generator--losing a limb is more of an annoyance than a big deal--and though Bumblebee falls into this category he's small. If he went up against any bot twice his size or more, he's most likely going to get creamed. His size does make him extra fast and extra flexible though, which helps him in doing things that other Autobots couldn't easily do due to their size and clunky movements.
• Stingers - Bumblebee has weapons that are built into his hands, which he can transform at will. They release an electric shock (giving the Bee his 'sting') and when combined with Ratchet's magnets, make for a pretty awesome dual attack. They aren't at 'war level' though, and unbeknownst to Bumblebee, have had the training wheels on since he left the Autobot boot camp. Probably because he's a kid who shouldn't be left alone with dangerous weapons of war.
• Transforms - As with all Transformers (haha, get it?) Bumblebee has an alternate vehicle mode which he can transform into at will.
• Videogames - Bumblebee spends a lot of his time playing videogames and is actually pretty darn good at it! He's constantly trying to beat his own high-score and is known as the best player in the team.

Strengths/Weaknesses:
Strengths: Fast, loyal, brave, protective, friendly, joker and wisecracker, determined and good intentioned.
Weaknesses: Impulsive, obnoxious, immature, inexperienced, small (in relation to the rest of the cybertronians at least) and abrasive.

Items:
• a faulty plasma dynamic thruster
• a pair of fuzzy dice
• a tree-shaped air freshener
• a police siren complete with flashing lights

ok! i get it! virtual reality is cool or something and evvvverybot likes being in a virtual world and seeing all the different things and doing training excersises and meditating or whatever you guys do

but would it be so hard if we had some actual videogames too? you know the ones with the controllers you have to use your servos for and the little humans on the screen fight each other until you make one explode and get a new high score? me and sari were the best at the scrap

that would be real good because sometimes i just wanna chill on the couch and get a new highscore instead of actually fighting things that hit back! you know? theres only so much virtual alley duel i can play before i need to go to the medibay and get all my joints oiled up

if im gonna be stuck on this fragging ship at least make it more fun for me i already beat all you glitches in races so im booooooored

ok???
